100 People to Encounter in the Wild West

100 People to Encounter in the Wild WestCharacters will encounter other people who may or may not be important. This is a list of 100 people that can be encountered in the Wild West. This list can be used for a historical setting or others such as Weird West or steampunk.

Each person has a suitable name for the period, their age and occupation, and some also have minor details on them or what they are doing. These people can be used to simply flesh out a street or perhaps worry players about who they are. There are 50 men and 50 women and the majority are in their prime working years. The names would indicate a European origin rather than native, but the latter could still be used in certain cases.

To use the table, either roll d100 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.

Here are some sample results:

44. Gladys Millinger – Female, 35 years old, a farmer’s wife who has been running the farm since her husband died a couple of years ago.
45. Glen “Mean” Walsh – Male, 45 years old, the local sheriff, he is an unpleasant man and suspected criminals, more than a few of whom were perhaps never guilty in the first place, tend to wind up dead rather than in prison.
46. Harold Chambers – Male, 28 years old, working as a sawyer in the sawmill he often smells of freshly cut wood.
