100 Random Scribbles to Bamboozle Players to Find on Pieces of Paper

100 Random Scribbles to Bamboozle Players to Find on Pieces of PaperThis list is primarily aimed at the 20th century or later, and for Earth, but could possibly be used in other eras and settings too.

Players will often go through pieces of paper looking for clues and helpful information. This is a list of 100 scribbles and jottings that they can find that look important, but are actually, unless the GM decides otherwise, useless.

Many of the results do actually have meaning, and such meanings are detailed, just not anything that would be useful. These are the sort of jottings and notes that people make for their own use. They might look important and might appear to mean something, but the only purpose they serve is as red herrings.

To use the table, either roll d100 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.

Here are some sample results:

61. How Kelp Can Help Your Love Life (A, weird, seminar title)
62. Ia fgora stgad fthagn ghark sda (Random gibberish, might be interpreted as some type of weird chant)
63. Jeff called. Who’s Jeff? (Random phone message)
