Characters may travel through forests at some point and this supplement has 100 encounters for enlivening such a journey.
The counters may range from the innocuous to the potentially dangerous. They may be a source of colour or perhaps be used as potential adventure or encounter hooks.
To use the list, either roll d100 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.
Here are some sample results:
40. Mud – The ground has turned to mud here, making footing treacherous and possibly removing footwear. The water that created the mud may be coming from a small spring. (Travelling through the mud is at half speed and characters wearing light shoes or slippers will need to make an Athletic (Agility) roll with +2 to avoid losing them.)
41. Nest – The shredded remains of a bird’s nest are on the ground beneath a tree. Several broken and empty eggshells are amongst the remains.
42. Nettles – A large patch of stinging nettles overhangs the path here. Anyone brushing too close to them with bare skin risks suffering a reaction from the sting of the nettles. (An Outdoor (Logic) roll with +2 to identify the nettles. If a creature touches them, they must make an Athletic (Endurance) roll with +2 or suffer 1 damage.)
