Spellusers can experiment on different things magically to see what they can discover.
This supplement has 100 such experiments to find in a wizard’s lab or home. Some are strange, some are dangerous and some are potentially useful.
To use the list, either roll d100 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.
Here are some sample results:
32. Floating in the air is a large crystal. Positioned around it are several mirror-like plates that are projecting some kind of energy at the crystal (if a living creature interrupts an energy beam, they will take 1 (1d2) point of damage per round).
33. Flying carpet with a command word written on it. When spoken, the carpet either quivers but nothing or flies at the speaker faster than an arrow (roll 1d6, on a 1-3 the carpet quivers, on a 4-5 it flies at the speaker; DC 7 Dexterity (Acrobatics) check to avoid it or take 3 (1d6) damage from the impact). Notes show this is an experimental flying carpet that comes when called.
34. Glass bottle with copper banding that has a copper wire leading up out of it and through the ceiling. The device is intended to bottle lightning and leads to a lightning rod. It has a tendency to explode after bottling too much, and bits of glass nearby can point to this (roll 1d6 when the flask is touched; on a 1-2 it explodes causing 6 (2d4+1) damage to all within 10’, DC 7 Dexterity (Acrobatics) check for half).
