Moorlands and heaths are closely related terrain and end to be the result of long human habitation. Different encounters can be had on a journey through such.
This supplement has 100 suitable encounters for such regions, that can be used to enhance a journey or as potential adventure hooks.
To use the list, either roll d100 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.
Here are some sample results:
70. Smoke is rising from the moor, and closer examination shows that it’s the moor itself that is burning, as the peat is smouldering (walking on the peat causes 1 damage per round, doubled for those in metal armour).
71. Standing on a low rise are some mounds that look (an Easy Engineering skill roll) artificial and a few crudely shaped stones, all that remains of a fort built millennia ago.
72. Sticking out of the ground are some burnt, but clearly (a Trifling Perception skill roll) shaped, timbers. If they are excavated, they prove to be part of a buried ship (after 1d10+2 rounds for one person). Should the rest of the ship be excavated, it is all revealed to be charred, with a bier on the centre along with scorched armour and weapons (nothing of value can be salvaged, but disturbing the ship will result in a Haunt attacking).
