Taiga is cold land though not always arctic, mostly lowland and sometimes tundra. Itβs lowland and often flat.
This supplement has 100 encounters suitable for such land that can be used to enliven a journey or as a source of potential adventure hooks.
To use the list, either roll d100 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.
Here are some sample results:
85. The taiga here is completely dead and the soil is dry, dusty and lifeless. Any trees and other plants are dead and crumbling, turning to dust if touched.
86. The taiga is unusually boggy here and travel is slowed through it. Checking the bog will reveal that it is at least several feet deep in places, and at times possibly more (movement is halved).
87. The trees here are clearly (a Trifling Lore (Nature) Skill Roll) young and if undergrowth is cleared away (which takes 1d5+1 minutes) it can be discovered that this is because the older trees all perished in a fire, leaving a few charred stumps and logs behind. The undergrowth is also thicker, without the older trees to hide the sky (movement is halved).
