Two More Template Sets Purchased

Horror Template SetWith the Christmas in July sale going on on RPGNow (in which Azukail Games is also participating), I’ve picked up another two template sets using reinvested publisher earnings. Unlike the Sci-fi set, these are two that I had planned to purchase.

The two sets are, once again, some of the lovely products from Lord Zsezse Works. One is the Steampunk set, the other the Horror set.

Steampunk Template SetThese will be used for future supplements and, in the case of the Steampunk set, I’m going to go back and use it for two existing ones at some point.

These are probably the last two sets that are needed for the moment, although there is another set I’m considering getting.

Christmas in July on RPGNow

Well, it’s the Christmas in July sale on RPGNow, and many of our supplements have 25% off.

I admit, I’d forgotten I’d signed up for this sale, but if you want to get one of the discounted supplements – about 25% off – there’s just under 8 days to do so.

See the discounted list on RPGNow.

Another Template Set Purchased

Sci-fiAnother template set has been bought using reinvested publisher earnings.

It’s another pack from Lord Zsezse Works, Sci-fi. This is one of the packs that comes with back covers as well as front covers and papers, in four different designs and in US Letter and A4 sizes.

Although I had planned to buy another couple of template sets, this wasn’t either of them. In fact, I don’t have a definite immediate use for this particular one, and there are a further two or three I might have purchased first. However, it’s one that I have potential future uses for, and it was in a two day sale when I got it, so I decided to make the most of the discount.

Why Agreeing to Get Publisher Emails Can Be a Good Idea

Email

Not everyone who buys products on RPGNow/DriveThruRPG accepts emails from those who published the product they purchased.

This is often understandable. Fear of having your email account flooded with updates from many different publishers can account for this – although this can be a good reason to set up a separate email account.

Not getting emails from publishers means that you can miss out on special offers. For example, the recently released Tomes of Alchemy had a special discount sent out to everyone who had purchased a product previously, and agreed to receive emails.

This wasn’t everyone who had purchased of course. Those who hadn’t agreed to accept emails didn’t receive this special discount. Some of those who did took advantage of it. It’s possible that some of those who hadn’t subscribed bought the product at the full price, missing out on a discount.

We often target emails to a certain degree, although finer targeting is going to become less possible as more products are published. Still, at the moment, assuming that you qualify for every email sent out, this only means one email a week. Most won’t be discounted, but some will, with the discounts tending to be for the more expensive products.

New Template Set Purchased

From the Lost LibraryI’ve just reinvested some of my publisher earnings into buying a new template set.

It’s From the Lost Library, one of the rather nice template sets published by Lord Zsezse Works. The set consists of four cover designs and four page designs, in US Letter and A4 sizes. I’ll have to decide which size will work best.

I’m not certain whether or not I’ll use the graphics for any of the existing “Things” book and item lists. I do plan to upgrade the graphics on those at some point; I’d just like to use something a bit more modern, given that they are aimed at modern campaigns.

I do have a number of supplements that have needed formatting for a while which I am going to use the templates with.

Site Up!

Well, I’ve finally installed WordPress on the domain as I planned to, rather than simply having it redirecting to the publisher page on RPGNow.

As can be seen, there is still a lot of work to do on the site – it’s up and that’s about it. I did plan out a few things beforehand, so I know at least some of the things that need doing. There are still plugins that need adding for one, and some customisation to the current theme.

I will probably keep the default theme up for now, rather than change it, and wait until I find/buy a good one.
