Adventuring might involve exploring large caves, but travelling through the wilderness can result in finding much smaller places.
This supplement has 100 caves, and similar shelters, that could be found when travelling. They may or may not be occupied, and may or may not be natural. They may provide shelter or be a source of danger or adventure hooks.
To use the list, either roll d100 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.
Here are some sample results:
35. Boulders are stacked in a rough pile, with a narrow gap on one side that can be squeezed through (by a Normal creature), revealing a small hollow within the pile just about large enough for a Normal creature to be seated.
36. Clay amphorae are partially buried in the earthen floor of this cool rocky cave. Some are broken and most, if opened, prove only to contain vinegar. One still contains a decent wine, though (the amphora contains 10 gallons worth 1 gc per gallon).
37. Crude shelves have been carved into the walls of this rocky cave and various pieces of paper debris can be found on them. It looks like books were once stacked on the shelves, though they have rotted away, and a small pile of rotten wood looks like it was a table and chair (all confirmed with an (Easy +20%) Awareness Test)
