The dwarfs of Shadow of the Demon Lord are short and stocky with an affinity for stone and minerals and a sometimes legendary greed for valuables.

This supplement has 100 named and briefly described dwarfs. They can be used as foes or potential friends or allies.

To use the list, either roll d100 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.

Here are some sample results:

39. Jörg: Jörg is a wealthy dwarf who became wealthy at a young age thanks to coming across a vein of gold which the dwarf then mined. They have since parlayed this into a larger fortune, often investing or lending out their money. What no-one knows is that Jörg wasn’t the one who discovered the gold; instead, it was a friend of theirs who then cut Jörg in for a percentage of the mined gold. However, Jörg decided that they didn’t want just some of the gold, but all of it, and killed their friend to do so. Should this come out, Jörg could well end up being cast out of dwarfen society.

40. Justus: Justus is a dwarf gem cutter and jeweller who mostly does custom cutting and jewellery making, and will buy raw stones and metal ingots as a result. The dwarf is also willing to buy finished works at a discount without bothering to ask awkward questions such as where the seller got the item in question and whether they really have the right to sell it. Such works are quickly dismantled, the gems recut and the metal melted down. Most of the work Justus does is honest and above board, however, though if they are brought in raw gems to cut, the dwarf will usually cut them in such a way as to let them have useful fragments to keep.

41. Karina: Facial hair is a major feature for all dwarfs, and most of them will lavish a lot of care and attention on it. Not all of this attention is done by themselves, and this is where Karina comes in. The dwarf is skilled at cleaning, grooming and otherwise enhancing the facial hair that dwarfs possess, and also has the skill to make various different kinds of beard lotions, greases and oils that can be used to help maintain a beard, as well as various items of small jewellery specifically designed to be woven into beards, moustaches and muttenchops.
