Forests are often associated with fey creatures, and whilst some may be friendly, others are decidedly not.
This supplement has 100 encounters suitable for a dark fey forest. They can be used to enliven a journey or as potential adventure hooks.
To use the list, either roll d100 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.
Here are some sample results:
73. The characters come across a tattered-looking individual who is babbling to themself. They are speaking in a dialect that can be recognised (a (Routine +10%) Education Test) as several centuries old, though the person isn’t as old as that, and bear the marks of a long period of cruelty on their body, which by the sounds of it has shattered their mind.
74. The forest is covered in huge, thick webs here, hanging from the branches in long strings, covering the ground and blocking the paths between the trees. Every so often, the webs quiver as if commensurately huge spiders are traversing them, but if so, the spiders are lurking out of sight (Attercap Spiders are lurking in the webs, waiting for creatures to become isolated).
75. The forest is plagued with many small traps. Though well-designed and hidden, none are very big, and most range the gamut from unpleasant to embarrassing, rather than being actively dangerous (the traps will be armed with things such as dung and rotten fruit).
