100 Encounters for the Deserts of the Nile Empire

100 Encounters for the Deserts of the Nile EmpireStorm Knights can have encounters in the deserts of the Nile Empire and this supplement has 100 different things to encounter.

They range from the odd to the dangerous and some relate to the Egypt that Never Was, They can be used to enliven a desert journey or as potential adventure hooks.

To use the list, either roll d100 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.

Here are some sample results:

80. Temperatures drop well below freezing during the night, to a degree that is unnatural, and those not prepared (-10C cold, see Extreme Heat/Cold) may suffer. The next morning a thick layer of frost covers every surface, though this rapidly evaporates as the sun rises.

81. Tethered camels around a group of tents mark the spot of a Bedouin encampment. The Bedouin are friendly, at least to foes of the Nile Empire, and will provide food and water to visitors and treat them well, as long as said visitors respect them and their customs and behave appropriately. A scholar test is required to know what the appropriate customs are; should this be failed, a DN 14 persuasion test is needed, and failure of this will result in the Storm Knights being asked to leave the camp. Refusal to leave will result in force being used.

82. The body of a dead antelope is surrounded by a pack of jackals that are feasting on their prey. The jackals will need some effort to drive them away from the corpse, but an intimidation test will do it. Once driven away, the antelope can be seen to be wearing a leather collar studded with lapis lazuli. The collar is now bloody and damaged, and a DN 14 scholar test will reveal it is of a design related more to those of Ancient Egypt than modern times.
