Should the characters at some point be beside the water, whether a sea, ocean or even a large lake, they may find things that have been cast up on the beach, whether rocky or otherwise. Such items may be the typical detritus that is lost from ships, dropped in the water or simply found beside the sea. It may also include items that are valuable or dangerous.
This is a list of 100 different things that could be found by characters beside the water, or perhaps even be bobbing in the water itself. These can be used as simple dressing for a location or perhaps as a source of adventure hooks. Some are clearly useful; others not so much.
To use the list, either roll d100 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.
Here are some sample results:
30. A set of goggles. Once adjusted to fit the wearer’s head, these goggles will keep water away from their eyes, allowing them a clearer view of what’s beneath the water.
31. A jewelled eye patch, sewn with pearls round the edge and a ruby in the centre. It’s worth 5gc.
32. A small stone, with a naturally-formed hole in the centre of it. A (Standard +/-0%) Folklore Test will reveal that these are called hagstones, and they are often thought of as the bane of faerie magics. If someone looks through the centre of the stone, it gives them a +10 Base Chance to see through Arcana of Shadowmancy magicks and illusions cast by Fey creatures.
