When asking in spaceport bars and other places, travellers may here a variety of rumours. Some may be rumours they are seeking, others may not.

This has 100 different rumours about the Great Rift, primarily the sectors of Riftspan Reaches, Touchstone and Afawahisa. They can be used as background colour, misdirection or adventure hooks.

19. Forbidden in the Aosola subsector of Touchstone is a dangerous world that contains ruins of cities that are believed to predate the Ancients. A new expedition is being planned to the world, one that is reputedly better equipped than any before and able to deal with the plentiful hazards found on the planet. The aim of the expedition is to catalogue everything on the planet and recover as many items as possible for examination in a safer environment.

20. For some time there have been reports coming from the spinward-coreward section of the Ekteiu subsector of Touchstone that a small alliance of Aslan clans are fighting an exterior threat, and losing against whatever that threat is. Despite that, no-one has believed that this threat could push further into the subsector, but additional reports are claiming that starships of an unknown design have been seen in other systems in the subsector. Some believe that the unknown threat is now scouting other targets to attack.

21. For years there have been rumours about strange ruins on the moons on Brassey’s Superjovian in the Phobetor system in the Far Dark subsector of Touchstone. Recently, a ship has returned from
the superjovian, claiming to have relics recovered from a ruin on one of the moons, though they are not saying which one. Given the size of the moon and ring system finding the right one without directions will be difficult, and the crew of the ship are planning to auction off the location.
