The offspring of humans and dwarves, ogres are much larger than either of their ancestors. They are freedom-loving and often violent types who can cause a lot of damage. This supplement has 36 ogres to encounter; they could be foes or potential friends or allies. Each is named and given a brief description.
To use the list, either roll d66 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.
Here are some sample results:
55. Shannag: Shannag is positively an intellectual by ogre standards, and is far smarter than most non-ogres might believe; ogres themselves regard Shannag, when they care, as being a bit of
a freak by ogre standards. Shannag likes acquiring books and is a decent reader of such, and as a result has amassed quite a wealth of knowledge. If anything, that makes the ogre even more dangerous than the average. However, it does also mean that the ogre will be willing to negotiate or talk with others who might be able to share knowledge with them, or get them books. Though Shannag is still perfectly capable of slaughtering people and taking their books from their corpses.
56. Turgan: Ogres are known to scar their limbs using branding irons for what can only be called decorative purposes, and Turgan is an ogre who has taken this perhaps a step further. Realising that ogres want their brands to look good, for ogre definitions of the word, the smarter than average ogre has decided to provide them with a service. Turgan got some branding irons made to their specifications – the blacksmith was not given a choice – Turgan will now brand other ogres with comparatively intricate designs. For a price, of course.
