100 Encounters for a Fantasy Jungle

100 Encounters for a Fantasy JungleCharacters may end up travelling in jungle regions – or, more commonly these days, tropical rainforests – for a number of reasons, with lost civilisations being a popular one.

This supplement has 100 different encounters that characters could have. These may be used as background colour or as potential adventure hooks. They include things, people, places and creatures. Some are potentially dangerous and others are potentially useful.

The supplement also comes in a Pathfinder-compatible version. You do not need both versions.

To use the list, either roll d100 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.

Here are some sample results:

83. Stockade – This small wooden stockade has double gates that are barred from the inside. Flying on a pole above the buildings can be seen the flag of a noted trading company. Inside, the stockade has been abandoned. There are several well-constructed buildings – bunkroom, temple, commander’s hut, communal dining area and kitchen – but none are occupied. Various low-value possessions can be found and the storeroom is still full of food, although most has been ruined by local wildlife.

84. Stone – A large circular stone is buried, although very shallowly, under the ground here. If excavated, the stone is almost ten feet in diameter and intricately carved from a hard rock. Various rings with different carvings in them radiate out from the centre and there are what look like arrows pointing at the outermost ring. Suitable knowledge will reveal that it appears to be some sort of astronomical calendar.

85. Stone Blocks – Grey, oddly regular shapes scattered across the jungle floor can be seen to be massive stone blocks, part of some building that has since collapsed. The blocks are covered in creepers.
