They can have hostile effects, reactions and potential adventure hooks.

Here is a sample result:

4. Bubbling Waters

Harm: 1

A patch of water is filled with bubbles that rise to the surface and pop when they do so. The bubbles contain toxic and flammable gasses, and they never stop erupting from the water. The water, and the area around it, is devoid of fish, flora and fauna, as the toxins have proven too much for them.

Several plants have sprouted that seem to have adapted to the toxins, though the plants themselves are now toxic.

The area being affected by the toxic bubbles appears to be spreading, as small bubble have started to appear beyond the currently affected area.

The bubbles are presumably being emitted by something under the water, and if that source could be destroyed, the waters would become healthier.

Hostile Ground: Applies disadvantage to anyone not wearing a Sealed outfit in the area. Exposure to the gasses causes Harm.

GM Reactions:

Corrosive liquid is splattered on travellers when a bubble bursts.

Gargantuan bubble starts to erupt from the water’s surface.

Large bubble erupts nearby and ignites in a small fireball.
