Monsters and Horrors are part of the category known as Threats in Legacy: Life Among the Ruins. They are creatures or what might be considered to be creatures that are dangers that characters could run into in their travels. Some may be mutated or altered species, others malfunctioning technology and some may be remnants altered beyond all recognition.

4. Carnivorous Chicken

“In their quest for creating better food animals to harvest for meat, the ancients made some rash choices. The Carnivorous Chicken was created as a giant source of meat; however, it proved to be very dangerous.”

The Carnivorous Chicken can reach heights of six feet tall or more and has a serrated beak. It was originally intended to be a food animal, but mistakes were made and it became a predator instead. Though attempts were made to end the experiment, some of the Carnivorous Chickens ate their keepers and escaped into the wild, where they have become another predator of the wastelands.

Knock creatures down with a wing buffet.

Peck right through metal with its beak.

Swallow a victim whole.
