People live, even in the wasteland, and they form settlements to help them survive. This supplement has 20 settlements for the wasteland that can be used to flesh it out further, each with some potential adventure hooks.

12. The Defences

A series of defensive emplacements snake across the land, and they have been taken over and turned into a settlement. The trenches are covered over and expanded, and the various blockhouses and hardpoints have been turned into dwellings.

Several weapons positions are still intact in the defensive lines, though they are non-functional. The inhabitants are trying to get them working again.

Excavations intended to expand one of the trenches have uncovered an explosive device that hasn’t detonated. It’s not clear how powerful it is, but it will definitely cause a lot of damage if it explodes.

Part of the trenches are buried beneath an ancient war machine that collapsed onto them. Recently, systems have started coming back to life on it.
