This supplement has 100 different locations that can be used to flesh out a setting. The locations have an elemental theme and there are 25 each of air, earth, fire and water. These could be used to add locations to an elemental plane, or as strongly elemental places on the normal plane.
Each location is given and and a description as to what makes it interesting, which is often connected to the name.
To use the list, either roll d25 for a random result on each table or select appropriate results manually.
Here are some sample results:
Jewelled Journey Wind: A rapidly-moving stream of air that is used by natives and visitors to move around quickly. Sparkling elemental motes in the wind give it its name, and its use as a means of rapid movement means that other travellers can often be encountered within the airstream. Not all of these creatures are friendly or safe, and conflict between different groups of travellers is not unknown. Entering the stream is comparatively easy, but leaving it again once it has been entered is more difficult.
Pyramidal Mountain of the Butcher: A large, regular mountain that looks like a sheathed pyramid in shape, but a pyramid that is mountain sized. Inside the mountain dwells a being of elemental earth known simply as the Butcher. Despite no-one having seen or encountered the Butcher in many years, it is believed that it is still alive. For one thing, given the Butcher’s reputation, it is entirely possible that creatures have encountered it and not lived to tell the tale. The Butcher is believed to be a powerful being, one close to a demigod in power, and an evil demigod at that.
Looming Tower of Brass: Dominating the nearby surroundings, this efreeti outpost rises above the flames which reflect oddly in the tower’s metal. The tower itself is a single, smooth column of brass, seemingly unmarked or unmarred by normal features such as windows, battlements or even a door. The resident efreet seem to have the ability to enter and exit as they please, apparently moving through the solid brass of the tower without trouble. The brass itself absorbs a lot of heat from the surrounding flames and is burning hot to the touch both inside and out.
Unearthly Sea: This region of water is constantly quiet, still and as flat as a mirror. It is so still that the water, when not disturbed, works just as well as a mirror, reflecting things so clearly that it can be hard to tell where the water begins. Sometimes the reflections seen do not appear to have anything to make them; disturbing the water proves that they are reflections, but nothing can be seen above. The effect is as if the water is reflecting some other realm of existence.
