Any city and smaller settlements can have notable sites of interest, from large to small, that are known well locally and perhaps further afield too.
This supplement has 100 different locations suitable for placing in fantasy cities and other settlements. They range from the comparatively normal to the odd and can be used to flesh out a location or as potential adventure hooks.
To use the list, either roll d100 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.
Here are some sample results:
54. Spell Alley: Not really an alley, this is a courtyard and several surrounding streets that are the place to go for anyone who casts spells. Within the area businesses have conglomerated that provide necessary services and supplies for such, from the simple, such as scribes and booksellers, to more exotic ones, such as supplies of equipment and procurers of rare components. It’s rumoured that materials of a less legal nature can also be obtained in Spell Alley, though these are not openly advertised.
55. Spirit of the Sea: An elegant stone basin surrounds a fountain made from a statue that is carved from a different type of stone to the basin and which is clearly substantially older as well. The basin is carved with aquatic motifs and the statue looks vaguely aquatic as well, as it appears to be a figure holding a shell from which the water flows. The statue, however, is worn enough by time that it is impossible to clearly make out what it depicts.
56. Stepping Stones: These are not stones across a river, but a series of stones that winds through part of the town. Some stones cross a park whilst many are built into the roads. No-one is clear about what they do; some claim that a spell will be cast if enough people walk across the stones in order. They are all cut from the same type of stone, which isn’t local to the area, but other than that, there’s nothing odd about them.
