In a futuristic setting, characters are going to encounter spaceships of various types, whether as a passenger, at a spaceport or anywhere else.
This supplement has 100 spaceships of various types to encounter. None are purely military, and they range from interstellar down to orbital in nature. Each is names and given a brief description.
To use the list, either roll d100 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.
Here are some sample results:
80. Spider: Spider is a raucous ship whose crew bills her as a salvage vessel, and she’s well equipped with various tools that a salvage ship would need, for cutting into other ships’ hulls and dragging pieces away, as well as various holds. If someone were to examine the cutting tools closely, they would find that they are overpowered for their supposed use. This is because, although Spider is a salvage vessel whose primary occupation is salvaging things, but the crew is also perfectly willing to use the tools to make an otherwise fine ship into salvage.
81. Stardiver: Stardiver has a small crew for what is quite a large ship. Most of the interior is filled with technology designed to allow the ship to get close to stars without burning up, and most of the rest is filled with equipment that can then be used to study those stars. Stardiver has no interstellar capability, as such would use up valuable space, and has to be ferried between systems to examine stars. The ship is potentially dangerous to serve on; though every mission has been successful so far, it only takes one problem for her to burn up like a moth in a flame.
82. Striker: Striker is a pure privateer, a sleek and well-equipped ship that is designed purely to prey on merchants. She’s not capable of going head-to-head with a true military vessel of the same tonnage, but Striker is more than capable of dealing with even armed merchants and most pirate ships of a comparable size. The crew is ex-military and well trained, functioning far above the average for such ships. Striker is a useful ship to hire for anyone looking for a privateer, especially as the crew are only concerned with the pay-packet a job provides, not the ethics.
