Characters will often be travelling from one location to another and this supplement has 100 different groups that they could meet on the road.
The encounters range from single individuals to caravans. Some of them may be potentially hostile; others potentially friendly. They can be used to make a journey more interesting or as a source of potential adventure hooks.
The supplement also comes in a version for the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. You do not need to buy both versions.
To use the list, either roll d100 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.
Here are some sample results:
79. Sobidai Brant: Sobidai is riding a horse and leading a chain of six more. They are armed with a horse bow and short lance and are extremely competent on horseback. The horses they are escorting are ones that are going to be sold. Though they are not of the same quality as Sobidai’s own mount, they are still superior to the average mount that can be found in the area.
80. Sutha the Red and Idris Lorn: Sutha is a powerful mage dressed in flowing red robes and Idris is their apprentice. Sutha is an arrogant and showy individual, who will not hesitate to prove their ability with minor acts of magic, especially to impress the peasants and those unskilled in the arts. Only the fact that Sutha is almost as powerful as they believe has kept them alive. Sutha and Idris are travelling to Sutha’s home after collecting various needed ingredients and components, which Idris is carrying.
81. Tarant Opion: Tarant is clad in plate armour and rides a plate-barded warhorse at the head of a column of twelve similarly-clad riders. Each bears a religious emblem on their tabard and slung shield, with a pair of crossed swords beneath the emblem. The knights are members of a militant religious order and, though generally polite, are rather intolerant and arrogant.
