100 Sci-Fi Gangs

100 Sci-Fi Gangs

100 Sci-Fi GangsEven in most futuristic settings, whether these be distant planets or sprawling cyberpunk cities, there will usually be crime. And where there is crime, groups and gangs will spring up to control it.

This supplement has 100 futuristic gangs that characters can encounter. Whether this be as enemies, suppliers of goods and services that are less than licit or as allies or groups to join.

To use the list, either roll d100 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.

Here are some sample results:

21. Crimson Royale: While sex work is legal in most places to one degree or another, there are still limits on what you can legally pay another person to do with (or to) you. For the right price, though, Crimson Royale will facilitate the sorts of pleasures that one will never find from a legitimate, legal parlor. While the gang does operate legal flophouses and night clubs as fronts for their illicit services, these exist primarily as a way to launder their funds, and to stash their “assets” as they call them. While rumors and speculation abound regarding the salacious nature of the gang’s stock in trade, there are limits to what this gang will facilitate, and they expect those limits to be respected by their clients. Because anyone who thinks that all the makeup and perfume favored by the gang makes them an easy target should think twice about all the red they sport… because blood won’t show up on it.

22. Off-License: When a doctor loses their license to practice medicine, that doesn’t have any impact on the skills and training they received. It’s just a piece of paper, after all. The criminal organization known colloquially as the Off-License employs these disgraced physicians in order to provide under-the-table services to those who may not be able to go to a hospital for fear of their injuries being reported, or services being denied. From plastic surgery for those who can’t clear a psych evaluation, to removing bullets from street shooters, to illicit cyberware being implanted into gang enforcers, the Off-License has proven to be quite valuable to underworld representatives of every strata.

23. New Guard: While they disagree vehemently with the label that’s been applied to them, these black bloc protesters have earned the enmity of corporations as well as many law enforcement agencies for their acts of violent disobedience. As the business interests have escalated tensions with the New Guard by trying to pass laws against their activities, specifically demanding
they be labeled as a terrorist organization, they have refused to be cowed or intimidated. Perhaps the only outfit designated a gang that’s funded by people they’ve helped rather than harmed, the New Guard has lent protection to unions going on strike, and made examples of corporations whose practices dehumanize their workers. Their reputation is infamous, but the firebrands refuse to give up the fight.
