100 Station Security Officers

100 Station Security Officers

100 Station Security OfficersSpace stations hold a unique place in our sci fi games. From small way stations that monitor the deep black like far future lighthouses, to massive orbiting star ports that rival countries in size, they come in all kinds of shapes and sizes. And whether your game is starting on one of these stations, your party is just passing through such a location or the entire campaign happens in such a space, chances are good the player characters are going to have some kind of interaction with station security personnel sooner or later.

Whether the party works alongside security officers in pursuit of mutual goals, or they’re adversaries attempting to stop one another, the personnel listed in this supplement cover a variety of roles, ranks and purposes. From standard patrol officers, to specialist investigators who deal with vice, murder or white-collar crime, to shadowy officers whose files are kept under seal unless one has appropriate clearance. From hardworking cops trying to do their best, to gangsters with badges, there’s a little bit of everything in the entries that follow!

So whether these officers are background characters on your station, or they’re NPCs your players come to know and love (or loathe) is up to you!

To use the list, either roll d100 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.

Here are some sample results:

86. Kantos “Thundermaw”: A vesk who made his name in the fighting cages, Kantos retired after the last championship fight he was in. While he won the title, his skull fractures and broken ribs required extensive reconstruction. By the time he was out of surgery he was no longer within the boundaries of acceptable modification for a fighter, and most of his endorsement credits had dried up. To keep himself in the spotlight he signed a deal with the station security service. He’s had his share of high-profile incidents, but overall he isn’t considered a big enough liability to warrant getting rid of him. Especially since his mere presence has been enough to end conflicts when both sides realized who he was, and neither side wanted to take their shot at the title.

87. Menarka Harne: A middle-aged ysoki with a sweet nature and an itchy trigger finger, Menarka is something of a mixed bag for a lot of folks. She had a relatively uneventful career, which was what got her accepted into the community policing initiative. The belief behind the program is that officers are more likely to be on-hand to deal with things in their own neighborhoods, and if their friends and neighbors trust them, they can stop problems before they begin. And while Menarka liked the idea of such a program, she really took the post because she’s a mother of six, and she needed a place to live where they could all be comfortable without constantly struggling.

88. Luna Steel: Caught in a terrible crossfire early on in her career, Officer Steel crossed the Iron Rubicon, as it’s called when someone has become more machine than flesh. Though she was offered early retirement and support after her injuries, she all but dragged herself out of bed, and demanded to be put back on the street. Though it was a long and painful process, she was eventually given what she wanted. Referred to as the Chrome Patrol by several of the syndicates on the station, most won’t use the term while Officer Steel is present. Those few who did have acted as an object lesson to anyone who might try to follow in their steps.
