Her large, blind, milky eyes can see the intention in a traveler’s heart. And her long spindly fingers are deft at creating some of the most beautiful jewelry and powerful amulets. Barter with exotic meats to win her over and acquire the very best pieces. Chrysocolla grows all the gems and crystals herself, each one polished with love, and enchanted for greater purpose.
36. Ulfhild: The Lupe Coven are feared by the neighboring village, as they prey on the livestock, much like their namesake. Sheep, cattle, chickens and horses left out to pasture oft go missing once a fortnight. All parts of the animals are used by the coven, whether for clothing, food or for their spells. Ulfhild is the Mother Witch, the grand seeress of the wolves, and a great black wolf with a scar across its muzzle is her constant companion. His bone-chilling howls are often heard just before a raid. Yet, the villagers do not seek vengeance against the coven, as their homes go untouched and their kin unscathed. No disasters befall their village, no intruders seek to pillage or take them for slaves. A fair exchange for such a blithe existence in a warring age.
