In a modern game, characters may sometimes need someone to do something for them, possibly legal, possibly not.
This supplement has 25 modern people described in detail, together with suggested things that they could do for characters.
Here are some sample results:
20. Charlie Warner
Charlie Warner is a retired detective that gets a little bored. Normally he takes cases for people who want proof that their significant other is cheating, or trying to find lost items. Being an elderly man, he can’t really go on big chases, or get onto secured property anymore. However, he does still have some connections that can get access to different facilities if that is necessary.
How to use Charlie Warner: Charlie is someone to call when you need someone followed and documented. He’s usually open to help his friends out, especially if the job seems simple enough. His rates are reasonable, and if you leave a tip, he can keep whatever you need between just the two of you.
21. Evan Morrison
Evan Morrison has been city coroner for five years; at 30 years old he’s hoping to stay coroner for a very long time. He has a strange interest in unnatural deaths, to him the grislier, the more fascinating. Evan has his phone on him at all times so that he can easily get to any new crime scenes, and in the last five years he hasn’t taken a sick day or holiday. He doesn’t have many friends, but he does have a wife who is fascinated by serial killers throughout history.
How to use Evan: If a cause of death needs to be determined or covered up, Evan is who you should call. He cares less about money and more about what new things he might learn, or what grotesque imagery he might see. Being around Evan can be a difficult task for those who have a weak stomach, but if you can handle him, he’s extremely loyal and willing to help you out whenever you need.
22. Linda Atterberry
Linda Atterberry has been working with the Federal Emergency Management Agency for the last twenty years. For the most part, she works remotely as she handles the distributing of funds to cities that are impacted by natural disasters. She’s a widow, her husband having recently passed away from illness, and lives alone. When she isn’t working, she’s volunteering at local homeless shelters and blood donations.
How to use Linda: Linda has a decent amount of clearance when it comes to information of who is requesting assistance for relief aid. And since she distributes the funds, asking her to help you with potentially framing an elected official for misusing said funding isn’t out of the question.
