Two Pieces of Stock Art and a Modern Cover and Page Backgrounds Purchased

Elder Thing
Image: Fat Goblin Games

I’ve reinvested some of the money in buying three things from Fat Goblin Games. Two of these are pieces of stock art, both Lovecraftian in theme, a picture of an Elder Thing and one of a Deep One. Both of these are intended for a new Tomes supplement that is being written.

I also got the modern cover and page backgrounds set. All the other templates purchased so far have been from Lord Zsezse Works, but they don’t have a modern design as yet. I may not use this new template set much, and I may switch should Lord Zsezse come up with a modern set, but it was bought at the discounted price of only $1, so it’s not a huge expense even if it only gets limited use.

RPGNow’s Black Friday Weekend Sale has now started, and runs for just under another six days.

Thirty six of our published supplements are in this sale at a discount.

Find the complete list on RPGNow.

One More Template Set Purchased

Demonic Template SetI’ve reinvested some earnings into another one of Lord Zsezse Works‘s excellent template packs, Demonic.

This is one of the sets that comes complete with back covers, as well as the standard front covers and papers.

Admittedly, this is another set that I have no planned, or even thought of, uses for; it was bought because it was on offer at a good discount. Still, it will undoubtedly be useful at some point.

It’s the Halloween sale on RPGNow, and many items have been discounted by a third.

Twenty one of our titles are in this sale, so take a look at the list and grab them whilst they’re reduced! The sale lasts for the next week.

Another Two Template Packs Purchased

Celtic Template PackI’ve purchased another two template packs from Lord Zsezse Works on RPGNow. These are the Celtic and Elves 2 templates.

Elves 2 Template PackNow, I don’t have any immediate plans – or even any future plans – for these, but the purchase came about because they were part of a charity bundle product I purchased from Fat Goblin Games, which included a variety of other items, including some horror stock art portraits – something else I don’t yet have a use for.

These two template packs have the normal four sets of covers and papers seen in the other packs, but these also have four sets of matching backs as well.

I’m sure they will prove useful at some point and, like the others purchased, they are really very nice.

Cthulhu Mythos Sale on RPGNow

It’s the Cthulhu Mythos Sale on RPGNow, in celebration of the upcoming birthday of the late H. P. Lovecraft.

It looks like we’ve got one supplement in the sale, 100 Books to Find on an Occultist’s Bookshelf, which has 20% off all week whilst the sale lasts.

Two More Template Sets Purchased

Horror Template SetWith the Christmas in July sale going on on RPGNow (in which Azukail Games is also participating), I’ve picked up another two template sets using reinvested publisher earnings. Unlike the Sci-fi set, these are two that I had planned to purchase.

The two sets are, once again, some of the lovely products from Lord Zsezse Works. One is the Steampunk set, the other the Horror set.

Steampunk Template SetThese will be used for future supplements and, in the case of the Steampunk set, I’m going to go back and use it for two existing ones at some point.

These are probably the last two sets that are needed for the moment, although there is another set I’m considering getting.

Christmas in July on RPGNow

Well, it’s the Christmas in July sale on RPGNow, and many of our supplements have 25% off.

I admit, I’d forgotten I’d signed up for this sale, but if you want to get one of the discounted supplements – about 25% off – there’s just under 8 days to do so.

See the discounted list on RPGNow.

No Pictish Female Names

Pictish Silver Jewellery100 (And More) Male Pictish First Names has now been released, but there won’t be a female version of this.

One of the few female names to have survived is Eithne, that of a Pictish royal from the 9th century. However, that  name is actually of Irish or Gaelic origin.

One suggestion that has been made is that a proportion of the names currently believed to be male are actually female. This is not known for certain either way.

It may be possible to alter the male names by making them “feminine” as is done in some languages. Alternatively, and as Pictish may be a Gaelic language, female names from another Gaelic language could be used, such as Manx female names.

Another Template Set Purchased

Sci-fiAnother template set has been bought using reinvested publisher earnings.

It’s another pack from Lord Zsezse Works, Sci-fi. This is one of the packs that comes with back covers as well as front covers and papers, in four different designs and in US Letter and A4 sizes.

Although I had planned to buy another couple of template sets, this wasn’t either of them. In fact, I don’t have a definite immediate use for this particular one, and there are a further two or three I might have purchased first. However, it’s one that I have potential future uses for, and it was in a two day sale when I got it, so I decided to make the most of the discount.
