Characters will often spend times in inns and taverns, but what happens if they ask for something to eat? Roasts, stews, bread and cheese are all examples of typical items that can be found, but these are a bit boring.
This supplement contains 100 different foods that characters could buy in a tavern. Regional specialities, exotic dishes and strange foods that seemingly no-one in their right mind would eat fill the fare.
To use the list, either roll d100 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.

37. Squire’s Soup: When the lords and ladies have a feast, the remnants are what’s chopped up, stewed and handed round among the servants, the house guard and the lesser members of the staff. This term has found its way into the common parlance to refer to any stew or soup made with leftovers from previous meals, and a bowl tends to go for only a few copper chits, whereas a dish of the original might have cost a silver piece. It’s better to make a little profit where one can, instead of throwing away food because the asking price was too high.
38. Spinecone Delights: The large, spiny cones found in the upper branches of ironwood fir trees look almost like armor-plated porcupines. Most people ignore the cones, seeing no reason to climb such an unpleasant tree to get at them. Those who do, and who wedge a shucking blade into a seam to pry away the outer shell, find that inside is a sweet, minty green melon. Crushed and mixed with clean snow or chipped ice, this treat is often enjoyed after meals during the winter. Some households keep jars of the fruits buried deep in their cold stores, ensuring they can still enjoy it when summer’s warmth finally makes its appearance.
39. Cricket Cakes: Eating insects is far from an uncommon practice, even if they’re only used to supplement a culture’s existing diet. One particular favorite among the people of the Santak Arroyos
are golden crickets, which can subsist off of very little water, and eat plants that would be poisonous for most other creatures. Crushed and ground like wheat, it’s possible to bake these crickets into a hard bread. A thick dollop of butter can soften a cake, and make it quite palatable for those who don’t look too closely at what they’re eating.
