Mountains can be dangerous places to visit in and of themselves, with such as mud and rock slides, cold, freezing winds and the chance of falling from high up.
This supplement has 100 different encounters that can be used to enliven journeys through such regions. They can be used as background colour or as a source of potential adventure hooks. Some are potentially useful, others are potentially dangerous and some are odd.
The supplement is also available in Lore 100, Pathfinder and system-neutral versions. You do not need to buy all versions.
To use the list, either roll d100 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.
Here are some sample results:
74. Sheep graze on a verdant patch of grass. The sheep look in good condition and well-kept, but there is no shepherd in sight.
75. Standing on a protrusion of stone is a small stone fort. There is only easy way to reach the fort, but it is tumbledown and looks (a Science/Analytic (Logic) roll with -1) to be long abandoned.
76. Standing on top of a rise is a square stone structure. The structure is made from solid stone with a staircase winding up the side. It measures 10’ square by 20’ high, tapering in slightly at the top. The top of the structure is flat, with a large, rusty iron meshwork filled with ash. The place looks to be a signal beacon (a Science/Analytic (Logic) roll with -1), but one that has been abandoned.
