100 Encounters for Fantasy Mountains

100 Encounters for Fantasy MountainsMountains can be dangerous places to visit in and of themselves, with such as mud and rock slides, cold, freezing winds and the chance of falling from high up.

This supplement has 100 different encounters that can be used to enliven journeys through such regions. They can be used as background colour or as a source of potential adventure hooks. Some are potentially useful, others are potentially dangerous and some are odd.

The supplement is also available in a Pathfinder version. You do not need both versions.

To use the list, either roll d100 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.

Here are some sample results:

69. Rubble marks the spot of a landslide; an old one, judging by the growth of plants amongst the stones. If the rocks are carefully examined, some of them have shapes suggesting that they had been worked.

70. Scattered pieces of broken slate surround the entrance to a valley from which the rock has clearly been quarried. More pieces of broken slate cover the floor, with some pieces being fresh and others apparently dating back many years. Although nobody is currently present, it appears that slate is still being mined.

71. Set into the face of a steep cliff are a series of rusty iron handles, apparently there to help climb the cliff, but they are set slightly too far apart to be comfortable for a human-sized creature to use. Most of the handles are sturdy and well-set, despite the rust, but a few may come loose when weight is put on them.
