Characters can come across chests, whether these be used to store treasure or ordinary items, in dungeons as well as other places.
This supplement has 100 chests that characters could find. Some seem to be perfectly ordinary whilst others have more unusual features. They can be used as background colour or potentially more.
To use the list, either roll d100 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.
Here are some sample results:
83. The chest opens by splitting in two down the middle, and it’s covered in a layer of sturdy leather fastened with brass nails. Various pieces of paper adorn the outside, each covered in sigils and representations of ships, presumably good luck charms (though a DC 7 Intelligence (Arcana) check shows these don’t appear to have any real effectiveness) to ensure safe passage.
84. The chest seems to be completely immovable. This is because bolts have been driven through the bottom of the chest to attach it to the floor. If the chest isn’t open, trying to move the chest will eventually cause it to break (DC 22 Strength check).
85. The chest’s lock has been sealed with lead, making it impossible to open with a key or pick (AC 15, 12 hp).
