100 Pits to Find in a Dungeon (5E)

100 Pits to Find in a Dungeon (5E)

100 Pits to Find in a Dungeon (5E)Pits may often be built as traps to catch the unwary, but they may have other reasons for existence too. And even traps can have distinguishing features.

This supplement has 100 pits that can be used to decorate a dungeon, sometimes as just background colour, sometimes with hooks for more.

To use the list, either roll d100 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.

Here are some sample results:

74. The pit is damp with moisture seeping down the walls, which are covered with moss and slime. More water and slime coat the floor of the pit, which is slippery to walk on (-3 penalty to Strength (Athletics) checks to climb out and the slippery floor increases the DC of Dexterity (Acrobatics) checks by 3).

75. The pit is much hotter than its surroundings (see Heatwave), and a strong smell of brimstone fills the air.

76. The pit smells strongly of death and decay (DC 5 Constitution save or be at -1 on all rolls due to nausea for 1d4+1 rounds), though there are no obvious signs of bodies or anything else that would be responsible for such.
