100 Encounters for Fantasy Mountains (Black Spear)

100 Encounters for Fantasy Mountains (Black Spear)

100 Encounters for Fantasy Mountains (Black Spear)Mountains can be dangerous places to visit in and of themselves, with such as mud and rock slides, cold, freezing winds and the chance of falling from high up.

This supplement has 100 different encounters that can be used to enliven journeys through such regions. They can be used as background colour or as a source of potential adventure hooks. Some are potentially useful, others are potentially dangerous and some are odd.

To use the list, either roll d100 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.

Here are some sample results:

72. Several small stones tumble down from higher-up the mountain. None are truly dangerous, but they may cause slight injuries should a character be hit. (Each creature must make an Easy Dodge skill test or be hit by 1d10 rocks doing that much damage.)

73. Shattered stone lies on the ground in front of a cave mouth. The stone appears to be what remains of a boulder that was blocking and hiding the cave (an Easy Engineering or Perception skill roll confirms this).

74. Sheep graze on a verdant patch of grass. The sheep look in good condition and well-kept, but there is no shepherd in sight.
