Characters may end up travelling in jungle regions – or, more commonly these days, tropical rainforests – for a number of reasons, with lost civilisations being a popular one.
This supplement has 100 different encounters that characters could have. These may be used as background colour or as potential adventure hooks. They include things, people, places and creatures. Some are potentially dangerous and others are potentially useful.
To use the list, either roll d100 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.
Here are some sample results:
76. Skunk – A skunk is stumbled across by surprise and it may well spray characters if they aren’t quick enough. The smell may attract some creatures, and repel others.
77. Smell – A strong smell of rotting meat will lead the characters to a cluster of very large pitcher plants, easily big enough to swallow small humanoids.
78. Snake – A large snake is wrapped around a nearby branch, its tongue flickering in and out of its mouth as it raises its head to view those approaching. Whilst unaggressive, it is poisonous and will attack if threatened (Snake, Venomous, see SWADE).
