100 Encounters for Fantasy Oceans – Supplement for Zweihander RPG

100 Encounters for Fantasy Oceans - Supplement for Zweihander RPGOceans can be dangerous places and this supplement has 100 encounters for characters to have on them. The encounters are most suited for surface travel in a ship but could be tweaked.

Some of the encounters are hazardous, some are potentially useful and some are just odd. They can be used to enliven a sea journey and, in some cases, as potential adventure hooks.

To use the list, either roll d100 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.

Here are some sample results:

52. Large patches of seaweed float on the surface of the water. They slow the ship down by dragging against the hull and some get tangled in the rudder, compromising the ship’s steering until the plants are removed (until the seaweed is removed, travel is slowed by one quarter and all Pilot Skill Tests related to steering suffer a -10 Base Chance).

53. Large sea turtles keep pace with the ship for a bit (these are giant snapping turtles, treat as Man-eaters, and they may become aggressive if provoked).

54. Many crabs climb up the sides of the ship and clamber onto the deck. They are not aggressive, but they are a nuisance, and will use their pincers if attacked (treat as a Normal Swarm if the crabs are attacked).
