Taiga is cold land though not always arctic, mostly lowland and sometimes tundra. It’s lowland and often flat.
This supplement has 100 encounters suitable for such land that can be used to enliven a journey or as a source of potential adventure hooks.
To use the list, either roll d100 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.
Here are some sample results:
40. Honking can be heard as a huge flock of geese flies past overhead. Anyone underneath it risks being covered in bird droppings (an (Easy +20%) Athletics Test to avoid; anyone who fails is exposed to Filth Fever, see Chapter 9: Hazards & Healing in the ZWEIHÄNDER Revised Core Rulebook).
41. Howls can be heard in the distance, answered at several different points of the compass, suggesting (a (Trivial +30%) Survival Test) that a large number of wolves are out there.
42. Huge ferns are growing amongst the trees of the taiga, some so tall that they vie with the trees for size. It looks like some of the trees are being choked by the ferns (confirmed with an (Easy +20%) Survival Test).
