In a fantasy setting, characters may travel through the air at some point, wherever that air might be.
This supplement has 100 aerial encounters for characters to have. Some are potentially dangerous and some are odd.
To use the list, either roll d100 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.
Here are some sample results:
48. For some reason, it is easier to remain in the air in this area than it is elsewhere; something seems to enable a natural buoyancy for beings and items passing through it. This has little noticeable effect on magical forms of flight, but anything flying through physical means finds traversing the area easier (physical fliers have their speed increased by half).
49. Hail starts falling from above, potentially causing injuries (1 damage per minute for those unprotected) and definitely making it harder to remain airborne, as the hail is several inches across and at the very least is capable of inflicting serious bruises as well as disrupting concentration (sound and visual Notice rolls are made at -2 and Spellcasting rolls that require
concentration are done at -4).
50. Hanging in the air is what looks to be some kind of leather harness. If checked, it proves to be magical, which is how it’s remaining in the air, and can be controlled. It also is designed to fit a human, and closer inspection reveal that the catches of the harness have been tampered with, which possibly resulted in it becoming detached from its owner, dropping them to the ground.
