Characters may sometimes be asking around for information and this supplement has 100 different hooks and rumours they may hear in the Revel setting for The Stars Are Fire.

This may be used for misinformation or as potential adventure hooks. They are similar to the Rumours and Opportunities snippets found in the setting book.

To use the list, either roll d100 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.

Here are some sample results:

31. Mary Yang is one of the three PEOs of XK, and there are rumours that some members of the company are trying to get removed from her position. Her mother was a PEO before Mary, and there are mumblings that the only reason that Mary got the job was nepotism, and that she is otherwise unqualified to hold the position.

32. Moaning Crater on Mars has been identified by scientists as one of the sources of the vast releases of methane that occur every half dozen years. So far, the actual source of the methane hasn’t been identified; the most prevalent theories are geographic processes, releases from underground reservoirs and, considered less likely, from underground life. A more recent theory states that the releases are far too regular to be natural in origin, and that they are instead caused by an as yet unidentified mechanism.

33. Much of the Revel lost friends and family on the Quiet Earth, and there are rumours that some of them have recently being getting poor-quality communications from people they say where on Earth
when the Event happened. The communications are said to be full of interference and usually terminate themselves partway through. And, if an attempt is made to trace where a call came from, they appear to have no origin. “Voices from the Grave” some are calling these.
