When asking in spaceport bars and other places, travellers may here a variety of rumours. Some may be rumours they are seeking, others may not.

This has 100 different rumours primarily about Alpha Crucis. They can be used as background colour, misdirection or adventure hooks.

To use the list, either roll d100 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.

Here are some sample results:

83. The world of Caldron in the New Holland subsector of Alpha Crucis has a nominally high Law Level, but that only restricts privacy. Such as guns and drugs are freely available, and it’s said that because of this Caldron has become an important transhipment point for outside parties looking to ship guns and drugs to other worlds where they are more restricted.

84. The world of Doko Ba in the Regulus subsector of Alpha Crucis practices a philosophy that isn’t considered acceptable by the mainstream Solomani Party and it was raided shortly after the end of the Solomani Rim War by people who have still not been captured. Religious artefacts were stolen and never recovered, and it’s rumoured that recently some of them have surfaced in the private collections of some high-ranking Solomani officials.

85. The Ziusudra subsector of Alpha Crucis has a higher-than-normal deployment of Confederation Navy patrol vessels, which either work as commerce protection or border patrols, depending on how much support Valboa and Scathe have; those worlds prefer border patrols. It’s rumoured that elements in the Confederation are getting tired of this constant changing of roles, and are seeking to put a stop to it permanently, especially as pirates have a tendency to keep taking advantage of this.
