100 Locations for Miskatonic Country

100 Locations for Miskatonic CountryThere are more locations in Miskatonic Country than are detailed in the area’s sourcebooks, and this supplement has 100 such.

They range from city places, such as homes and businesses, to strange locations and hidden items. Some are definitely connected to the Mythos; others are definitely not.

Here are some sample results:

78. Sea Cave (K): Located at the base of Kingsport Head, but hard to reach from the Kingsport side, is a small cave that is most of the time completely submerged by the sea, only appearing at very low tides. Those who want to get to it will need to use a boat; there’s no access to the cave by land. The cave is only out of the water a few hours at a time, which makes entering it risky and dangerous. If entered, there proves to be a small shrine in the cave, with an altar topped by a statuette of what can be identified as being Great Cthulhu. Touching the statuette will lead to being in contact with Cthulhu’s dreams for several days.

79. Shack (I): This shack lies near the village of Falcon Point, though it’s on the south side of Falcon’s Creek whilst the village itself is located on the north side. The shack is abandoned, and it stands close to the edge of the cliffs; it looks like it wouldn’t take much to send it over the edge. No-one has lived there in years, and given its location the inhabitants of Falcon’s Point don’t visit it. However, some signs of recent visitors can be found if the shack is examined, as occasionally it’s used by Deep One hybrids out of Innsmouth to keep an eye on Falcon Point.

80. Shipwreck (K): This is the wreck of the Sea Swift, a 19th century clipper ship that was lost during a storm after leaving Kingsport. The ship was lost with all hands, and it isn’t known where she went down; it was only when the Sea Swift failed to arrive at her next port of call that she was discovered to have been lost, and the storm assumed responsible. Assumed, for she wasn’t actually sunk by the storm. Should someone be able to dive down to the wreck, it can be discovered that multiple holes were punched in the hull below the waterline, causing her to swiftly founder in the bad conditions.
