100 Rumours to Hear in Ifri

100 Rumours to Hear in IfriCharacters may encounter rumours when looking for information. Some rumours may be important, others not so much.

This supplement has 100 rumours that characters could hear in or about the continent of Ifri. Whether or not any particular rumour is true is up to the GM. They can be used as misdirection, background colour or potential adventure hooks.

To use the list, either roll d100 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.

Here are some sample results:

35. Recently, the Great Obelisk in Khemet, the testament to the Covenant of the Most High, has begun to glow, as have other crystals across the country. Some believe this may be a sign that the Ennead are walking the lands again. In the past few months, there have apparently been, failed, attempts to deface the obelisk. The bodies of those who have tried to do so are said to have been discovered at the obelisk’s base, charred beyond recognition.

36. Queen Twosret of Khemet is reputedly seeking out people to help her in a number of matters. Precisely what these matters are is not explained, but the call claims to be for Heroes willing to do whatever it takes to benefit Khemet. Some Heroes have apparently answered the call for help, but there’s a claim that some of these have not been seem again. Some others who have responded are said to be rather less than heroic in nature.

37. Refugees from trouble in Mbey and Khemet have been flooding across the borders into Manden Kurufaba for some time, which has caused a variety of problems, with the refugees automatically ending up in the jurnow caste and many Mandenkans considering them to be freeloaders who they shouldn’t have to support. The situation has recently gotten worse for refugees from Mbey, as there are claims that a sizeable number of them are not refugees but invaders from Mbey who are building an army to attack Manden from within when Mbey attacks from without.
