100 Rumours to Hear in or About the Great Rift: Corridor and Reft

100 Rumours to Hear in or About the Great Rift: Corridor and ReftWhen asking in spaceport bars and other places, travellers may here a variety of rumours. Some may be rumours they are seeking, others may not.

This has 100 different rumours about the Great Rift, primarily the sectors of Corridor and Reft with some on astronomical features in other sectors. They can be used as background colour, misdirection or adventure hooks.

To use the list, either roll d100 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.

Here are some sample results:

45. Khukish subsector of Corridor is notorious for its part time navies, pirate ships that sign up to defend worlds from pirates. This has caused more than one problem in the past but recently the situation appears to be getting worse. It looks like a number of corsairs have banded together to provide “protection” to a number of different worlds, in effect carving out what is essentially
a pirate empire of worlds unable to resist the pirates.

46. Kiiguuroesa in the Uantil subsector of Corridor has been Red Zoned for some time and an Imperial intervention has been planned to put the world’s civilisation back together. Other matters have meant that this intervention has not yet been done and there’s a rumour that some scavengers are taking advantage of this to turn the world into a personal fiefdom. It’s apparently early days, so there is still time to prevent the world becoming what would effectively be a pirate base, but time is running out.

47. Lasher in the Empty Void subsector of Corridor is home to a substantial navy base guarding against something. There are known to be occasional sensor anomalies detected in the subsector, and there are reports that naval activity has recently ramped up, perhaps related to this. The wildest rumours suggest that some sort of potentially hostile force has finally been detected, and the Imperial Navy is getting ready to defend against it.
