100 Selkies for Changeling: the Dreaming

100 Selkies for Changeling: the Dreaming

100 Selkies for Changeling: the DreamingThis supplement has 100 briefly described selkies that can be used in a game of Changeling: the Dreaming. In most cases, their court allegiance, and often their seeming, are not described, allowing a Storyteller to configure them as needed. They can be used as random Kithain encountered, or as friends or foes.

The pookas are named and a brief description of their major point of interest is given.

To use the list, either roll d100 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.

Here are some sample results:

88. Sophia Howard: Selkies spend most of their time in and around water; perhaps unusually, Sophie spent some time in the navy as a diver before retiring from the service. Though the selkie was known to be a proficient diver, one with a level of skill in the water that was far above average, due to their Kithain heritage, they were less than great at following orders, especially those that Sophia thought were stupid. Though Sophia wasn’t kicked out of the navy, it was quietly suggested that the service and the selkie were perhaps not the best fit for each other.

89. Tamsyn Ward: Tamsyn is a selkie wilder who is travelling the world, going from party to party, live event to live event, enjoying themselves on the way. Naturally, with Tamsyn being a selkie, the events they attend are close to the water. Most are either literally on the beach or next to it; the few that are even vaguely inland are located on the shores of lakes, though Tamsyn doesn’t visit any that are more than an hour in travel time from the ocean. Fresh water just isn’t the same as salt, as far as the selkie is concerned.

90. Tillmann Braun: Tillmann is a selkie with a fascination for sea shanties, and spends much of their time on land collecting such. The internet makes doing so easier these days, as much of the collecting can be done over the internet, but being a selkie, Tillmann naturally prefers travelling to the different ports and fishing towns, often preferring the smaller ones where older traditions are kept alive, as possible. They have a vast collection of sea chanties now, and will sometimes perform them too, having a decent voice when it comes to such.
