d66 Hooks and Rumours for the Bleed

d66 Hooks and Rumours for the BleedWhilst Lasers are asking around for information in the Bleed setting of Ashen Stars, they may hear other bits and pieces than what they are asking about.

This supplement contains 36 rumours that characters could overhear. Whether or not any are true is up to the GM and they can be used as background colour or adventure hooks.

To use the list, either roll d66 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.

Here are some sample results:

62 The Mohilar created a number of living weapons from quasi-sentients during the war, which greatly increased the threat those beings pose. There’s a rumour, though, that the Mohilar also created other living weapons, ones not so immediately obvious, from some of the Combine’s sentients, as well as their rival species. These sentient living weapons are said to be designed to work as a fifth column, undermining the Combine from within, and that many are still active.

63 The Originalists believe that the Utopian era prior to the Mohilar War can still be regained, and are opposing many of the moves towards stripping down government in the Bleed and establishing new institutions. There’s a rumour that some of the more extremist Originalists are going a step further. Instead of merely opposing the formation of new organisations, they are working to actively destroy any such that are set up.

64 The Synthcultures each have a SynthCode, which members agree to abide by, even when it runs against the rights set down in the Combine Constitution, though how much a SynthCode can abrogate Combine rights is determined by another law. There’s a rumour that some of the Synthcultures have, with the retreat of the Combine from the Bleed, started ignoring the limitations to what they can do under Combine law, instead changing their SynthCodes to measure up more precisely with the culture they are based on.
