Numenera is a game published by Monte Cook Games. Its setting is the Ninth World, and this list has six rumours for that setting. The rumours, which are similar to the Hearsay that can be found in the official books, can be used as adventure hooks or as simple misinformation.

  1. It’s rumoured that there’s something hidden in the Nullified Harbor that the few who know anything about it are keeping secret. It’s said that someone has been listening to these rumours and is planning an expedition to find out just what this secret is.
  2. Most of the wrecks of the Nullified Harbor are corroded skeletons or empty shells, though this doesn’t mean that they lack value. There are rumours that some of the wrecks contain preservation devices in which people who were once on the ships are sleeping, waiting to be woken up again.
  3. One rumour about the Nullified Harbor is that there’s a device that causes all the shipwrecks. It’s said that a group of pirates have decided that this rumour is true, and have headed to the place to see if they can find the device and liberate it, then use it to capture other ships.
  4. Several warships have reportedly been seen in the region of the Nullified Harbor. There are claims that the ships have deployed small boats to investigate the place itself, and that they are also trying to stop anyone else from getting close to it.
  5. Someone has reputedly returned recently from the Nullified Harbor with some strange, never before seen items. It’s said that the Amber Priests want to talk to this person, but that they disappeared out of the room they were staying in shortly after returning.
  6. There are many shipwrecks in the area known as the Nullified Harbor, from many different civilisations and eras. There are rumours that a small handful of the wrecks are in fact spaceships intended to travel the void between the stars.
