100 Columns and Pillars to Find in a Dungeon

100 Columns and Pillars to Find in a DungeonColumns are pillars are commonly found as a way of keeping the ceiling up in larger rooms. Most such will be quite normal, even if carved extensively.

The columns in this supplement are not normal and often do not sound as if they are capable of keeping the roof up. They can come in odd shapes and may have strange features built into them. The more normal-seeming columns may come in rows; the truly odd ones may be singletons. Some columns are potentially dangerous.

The supplement is also available in a Pathfinder version. You do not need both versions.

Here are some sample results:

24. Circular depressions dot the side of this round column. Every so often, bright light shines from these holes, potentially dazzling anyone looking into them, and brightly illuminating much of the surrounding area.

25. Clear, colourless liquid pours down the four sides of this square column, fed by holes in the capital and disappearing into gutters in the plinth.

26. Clearly made of metal, when approached the column can be identified as being made from many different weapons, or their metallic parts, of all types. The weapons are sometimes tarnished and rusted, and have been welded together to make the column. Despite the damage to the weapons, the column has many sharp faces on its outside, and those who touch it risk slicing their hand open and possibly getting an infection from the cut.
