100 Creepy-crawlies to Find in a Dungeon

100 Creepy-crawlies to Find in a DungeonInsects, arachnids and other creepy-crawlies can be found in dungeons and other subterranean places, and some can be stranger than any found on the surface.

This supplement has 100 such for characters to encounter. Some are useful, some are dangerous and some are just odd.

To use the list, either roll d100 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.

Here are some sample results:

92. Stone Spider: Stone spiders are found in areas of limestone, as they use this limestone to help with their webs. Though a stone spider doesn’t look much different to a normal spider, except for being pure white and having sharper mandibles, the webs they spin are different. Stone spider silk can be adhesive, just like normal spider silk, but it is also infused with limestone, making it significantly harder to break than even ordinary web, as well as resistant to flames. There are rumours of stone spiders growing large in the depths of the earth, big enough to capture humans
and similar creatures in their webs.

93. Straw Bug: Straw bugs are normally only found in areas where stalactites and stalagmites are found, as they look like a particular type of those called a straw, due to their long, thin shape. Straw bugs have an identical appearance when at rest, as they draw their long, spindly legs up close to their body. Straw bugs can move surprisingly fast when scared, as their long legs allow them to cover a great deal of ground quickly. They are unaggressive insects and can be very fearful, though their initial response to danger is to withdraw their legs and freeze in place.

94. Strider Ant: Strider ants are solitary creatures, not living in a nest like other types of ants with more of their kind. Strider ants are found roaming around caves and caverns, hunting for prey. The strider ant looks similar to an ordinary ant, though a large one, as they grow up to 2” long, but where they differ is in their legs. Strider
ants have legs that are 3-4” long, allowing them to stride above the surface and cover the ground at a rapid rate. Strider ants will walk over prey, then collapse their legs and attack.
