100 Illusions to Find in a Dungeon

100 Illusions to Find in a DungeonDungeons, and other places, may have illusions in them, and this supplement has 100 such for characters to encounter.

The illusions range from the simply odd, to those that are intended to disconcert or steer characters, to those that can be harmful, either directly or indirectly.

To use the list, either roll d100 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.

Here are some sample results:

84. Staircase: A staircase the characters are on turns into a chute as all the stairs flatten, sending them flying down to the bottom and likely injuring them in the process. This is an illusion, though, and if disbelieved, the staircase is revealed to still be perfectly normal.

85. Statue: In the middle of a room is a statue of a humanoid-shaped abomination. Glaring eyes are in the statue’s face, and these eyes seem to be staring at anyone in the room, no matter where they are, though the statue is never seen to move. The statue is real, but the effect of the eyes is an illusion.

86. Talking Creatures: Sounds as of a lot of creatures talking can be heard, and these can be followed to a large room that is apparently full of dozens of potentially hostile creatures talking to each other. There appear to be far too many to easily overcome, and the objective is to make the characters go a different way unless the illusion is disbelieved.
