100 Legendary Weapons

100 Legendary WeaponsWeapons in fantasy games often lack the flavour that is found with those from history, legend and fiction, often being reduced to their game stats.

This supplement has 100 different names and legends for magic weapons that can be added to any found, making such more interesting and adding potential adventure hooks in some cases. These details can be tweaked, if needed, to better fit a game setting or even a different weapon.

To use the list, either roll a d100 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.

Here are some sample results:

79. Stingers of Dammasi: Dammasi is known as the City of Fire for good reason – it is built at the base of an active volcano. The gold dragon Xormanthus protected the city when the volcano first erupted centuries ago and the dragon still slumbers within the mountain’s depths to this day. Crafted in the breath of the gold dragon’s fire, the Stingers of Dammasi were vital in the city’s defense against years of fire giant invasions. Many of the blades glow red when drawn and are quite warm to the touch.

80. Stormbow: This bow was crafted and enchanted by the storm giant wizard Thundralis, as a gift to the Storm King himself upon coronation. However, when the king was murdered by a rival clan, the
bow went missing. The bow is believed to be searching for a warrior worthy enough to use it. Legend states that the bow can change size to fit the warrior and has been used by members of all races.

81. Sword of Aradril: It is said that Aradril was one of history’s greatest paladins. His love for his wife Neneitha was unmatched, even by the goddess of love. When the vampire lord Darkiltas came to Aradril’s land, he set out to destroy the paladin in body and soul. He turned Neneitha into a vampire spawn and sent her to destroy her husband. A heartbroken Aradril drove a stake through her heart and his blade into his own. But the power of his blood granted the blade great power, forever enchanting it. The blade has since been passed down through the ages, forever seeking revenge on the undead.
