100 Plants for Alien Worlds

100 Plants for Alien Worlds

100 Plants for Alien WorldsAlien worlds in a futuristic setting will have their own flora, that sometimes may seem very strange.

This supplement has 100 plants that can be found on alien worlds. They are mostly found on habitable worlds, but some are found in stranger places, and can be used to flesh out alien ecosystems.

To use the list, either roll d100 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.

Here are some sample results:

86. Stenchplant: An invasive plant that emits a truly awful smell that drives away everything but flies. Mammals of any kind can be reduced to vomiting when they get near to a stenchplant, and the clouds of flies buzzing around them don’t help. Stenchplants are often linked to outbreaks of various illnesses with insect vectors.

87. Sticky Plant: An evergreen shrub notable both for the bright emerald hue of its leaves and the layer of thin, but incredibly sticky, glue that covers the leaves. These leaves attract insects to them, where those insects then become stuck in the glue, gradually dissolving over time as the plant absorbs them as a source of nutrition.

88. Stomach Settler: This plant is notable for its woody stems that, when chewed, can settle an upset stomach, though they do have a strong chalky taste to them. The stems are sometimes refined into cures for indigestion and upset stomachs, but they are also refined for another use as well, for the stems are mildly addictive when chewed as well, and can be made into drugs.
